Pope appeals for dialogue in Tigray region

At the conclusion of the General Audience, Pope Leo XIV appealed to all sides in the Tigray region to halt hostilities, recalling that only sincere commitment can lay the foundations for lasting peace. Speaking to Polish pilgrims, he recalled the beatification, 30 years ago, of the 13 Greek Catholic martyrs of Pratulin, who were killed for defending their belonging to the Catholic Church and entrusted their intercession to “the cause of the unity of Christ’s disciples.”
